Description
The NSP tuning shims fit on your foil fuselage. Their different configurations allow you to adjust the angle of attack of your rear wings, fine-tuning your setup for the perfect lift, glide and turning character.
Most hydrofoils in the market are set to a single AOA (angle of attack) at the back wing, usually varying between one- and three degrees. The NSP Airwave offers two sets of precision tuning shims and an additional Mast Shim Plate, allowing the rider to adjust the AOA of the back wing to customize the balance between lift, speed, stability, and turning.
Anodized aluminium shims allow you to trim your foil for different water conditions. Scroll down to see and click the performance chart of the Rear shim kit, the Riblet shim kit and the Mast shim plate to learn more:
Rear Wing Trim Shim Kit 3x
The Rear Wing Shim Kit consists of three tuning shims, to be used with the
RW 330 Flat Rear Wing, RW 340 M-Wing and RW 245 High-Aspect Rear Wing.
The 1° shim gives the least amount of drag, increasing speed but requiring some pumping to get up on foil.
The 2° shim offers a great balance between stability and speed. It is the best choice to start out on.
The 3° shim gives the most lift and is the easiest to get up on foil with, but a little slower, making it useful for beginners or foilers who prefer a quick lift. Note that we have a coloured version of the Rear Wing Trim Shim Kit as well, which makes it easier to differentiate the shims from each other.

Riblet Rear Wing Trim Shim Kit 4x
In addition to the 1°, 2°, and 3° shims, the Riblet Rear Wings come with an additional zero-degree shim, which is the fastest shim in the setup, perfect for high-speed downwind runs.
The 0° shim is a perfect shim for time trials and downwind competitions, where every millisecond counts.

Mast Shim Plate
The 1° Mast Shim Plate is designed to further enhance endless flight.
Every foil set-up is different and our Mast Shim Plate fine-tunes your stability and control by dialing-in the overall feel and performance of your foil set.
The Mast Shim Plate fine tunes the mast’s angle of attack relative to the board to enhance acceleration and glide. It makes take-offs easier in lighter winds and while pumping.
When combined with NSP’s all new Riblet Front and Rear Wings, we recommend using the Mast Shim Plate to fully maximize your potential, increasing stability while efficiently reducing drag with every pump:
